Robert Aronson
Rob was born in Holland of Jewish and Christian lineage. He migrated with his parents to New Zealand in 1959 and became
a Christian in 1970. He met his wife Gwenda, a New Zealander and they were married in 1971. They have 3 daughters, 3 grandsons
and 2 grandaughters
Rob and Gwenda have been involved in ministry for many years. Their preparation for ministry began with training at Christian
Life Bible College in Lower Hutt, New Zealand in 1974. After completing college and field student work in 1977, they returned
to their home city of Auckland and became involved with the leadership of their local church.
Rob has maintained a keen interest in serious study over the years. He is also a graduate of Mattersey Hall, the Assemblies
of God Bible College in the UK, and he has a Master of Theology degree with distinction from The University of Wales, Bangor,
in Great Britain. Rob's post graduate degree dissertation was on an aspect of eschatology. He has a particular interest in
End Time prophecy and believes we are living in biblically significant times. Rob leans heavily towards a pre-tribulation
rapture and premillennial view concerning the return of Christ. He believes that all true believers, Jew and Gentile, form
the body of Christ in this church age, but never the less, he draws a distinction between the church and the nation of Israel
in Gods purposes, prior to the eternal state, as seen in Romans 9 to 11.
Rob first came into full-time ministry as the Principal of a church-based Bible school in 1980. He became Senior Pastor
of the Mt Zion Assembly of God, Manurewa, Auckland, from 1982 to 1985. In late 1985, Rob and Gwenda travelled to Cambridge
in England with their three daughters where they lived, preached and taught until late 1987.
In 1991 Rob became an associate Pastor at South City Christian Life Centre in Auckland out of which he and Gwenda pioneered
and pastored Clendon Christian Life Centre in South Auckland from 1993 to 1998. Rob has lectured at various colleges and in
1997, he was appointed as the Principal of the National Bible College of the Assemblies of God in New Zealand, a position
he held for 5 years until the end of 2002. Rob was then engaged in itinerant ministry for a period of time until he became
the pastor for two years of what is now Harvest Christian Church in Pukekohe New Zealand.
Rob has preached and taught in New Zealand, Europe, Australia and the Solomon Islands. He regularly speaks at various
churches.
